My name is Shane and I'm a passionate tech fiend who loves pushing the envelope of creativity.
Who Am I?
To describe me as a pure chucklehead wouldn't be far off the mark. Just as I came back to looking at this site's source code, I saw an "Oswald" class, while Ozzy was blasting in my cans, I lost it laughing that I made a comical class, but knew what it did immediately.
However the 'Who Am I' question results in people wanting to usually know two things pretty quickly. So I'll split them up. 1) What I do for work and 2) What I enjoy doing in my spare time.
Work Shennanigans
I love front-end web design. I grew up when sites were unique and fun. Today so much of the internet has a bland cookie cutter feel, add that to all the bloat-adware, and I'm sat here wanting to create unique spurts of fun again.
I've designed thousands of websites. Some never to see the light of day, but just for my own curiosity to see if a concept would work.
Front-end has to be coupled with a solid backend though, and at one point I'd designed so many databases I was calling myself a web architect.
Personal ventures
Comedy would be the primary thing you'd find out about me in person, really quick. I'm always down for a laugh, and if you think you'll be able to take a joke too far, please do go for it, try and find that edge.
I've been a metal head since about 2005 or so. I love listening to metal, all kinds. Any music, except pretty much mainstream pop/country and some other stuff, you'll find me listening to when I'm able.
When it comes to technology, I believe it comes coupled with a lot of philosophy. I've spent countless hours, most of my 20s, thinking about philosophy. Essentially this has led me to an idea, that, with any luck, will help reshape human intelligence back to malleable minds that are able to handle full sentences, instead of clickbait headlines, but it will take work, and has become my biggest goal in life. It stems as a contradiction to some extent, as perhaps my favorite artist, Ozzy, has lyrics that say, "I don't want to change the world, and I don't want the world to change me". I don't necessarily want to change the world, just fix the tracks back to something coherent.
I'm a huge fan of The Matrix. Same goes for a lot of computer related films and shows, including where ideas spawn, such as The X-Files or The Outer Limits. However, The Matrix, and particularly the second one, where some quality philosophical thoughts are introduced, along with amazing action sequences, will always remain a huge part of my person.
In terms of psychology, I have a pretty big interest in how the brain, even if just mine, has come to be at the current junction. This includes branching out to subjects like body building and body dysmorphia. I wish Louis Theroux was more well known and reality TV junk was replaced with his presentations.
I'm incredibly passionate about certain subjects and topics as well. I won't shy away from a debate, and will often play devil's advocate to point out flaws when conversing with people. I enjoy the brain a lot and love people that are happy to engage in making it think and share ideas. I'm now at the point in life where I wish to build my ideas and see them come into fruition.
